Typical day rate

£500 to £800

per day

That's the industry standard range for experienced freelance bid writers. We'll confirm the rate for your bid before any work starts.

Three ways to pay

  • Day rate

The usual arrangement. You pay for the days your writer works on the bid.

  • Fixed fee

For defined scopes, such as a set of sections or a full response, we can agree one price up front.

  • Retainer

Most of our work is project-based, but we're happy to work on a retainer if you'd prefer.

What affects the cost

Every bid is different

Costs can vary in line with a few factors. Tell us about them when you get in touch and we'll give you a clear figure.

  • Scope

A full written response takes longer than a few high-value sections or a review of an existing draft.

  • Specialism

Some bids need a writer with niche sector or technical expertise.

  • Timescale

How soon you need a writer, and for how long.

  • Way of working

Whether your writer works remotely, on your premises or a mix of both.

We charge industry standard rates, typically £500 to £800 per day. The exact rate depends on the writer, the scope of the work and the timescale. For defined scopes, we can offer a fixed fee instead.

You contract with us and we contract the writer. You can then brief the writer directly or via us. Most of our work is project-specific and time-limited, but we're happy to work on a retainer basis if you'd prefer.

Send us a summary of the opportunity, with your deadline, budget range and any existing material that you can disclose. We'll arrange a short scoping call and follow it with a quote.
